New Tele Skip Cover

Health and Safety is one of the major issues facing the waste sector at the moment, with a recent study reporting an accident rate at nearly five times the national average. The issue of health and safety was really brought home by an extremely bleak eight week period at the end of 2006, when there were a total of nine tragic and unnecessary fatalities in the industry. Although the short period of time over which these accidents occurred was unusual the causes were, unfortunately all too common. At Reynolds Boughton Ltd – Trio Gloucester we are always mindful of our customers safety and over the years have introduced many safety features that are now industry standard. The latest of these additions is the ‘Tele Skip Cover’.

As some of the larger containers can be up to 3 metres high (from ground level) we are sure this new device will prove invaluable to operators’ health and wellbeing. No longer will they have to climb on to the top of the container to secure a flapping sheet cover. At a waste transfer depot recently an operator suffered two fractured ribs and various cuts and bruises when he fell from a container after losing his balance, he fell to the ground. As a result of an investigation by the Health and Safety Executive his employers were fined £25,000 and that’s in addition to any court costs. The new Tele Skip Sheet from Reynolds Boughton Ltd – Trio Gloucester will minimise the risk of that ever happing to you as it allows operators to sheet containers once they are safely stowed on the back of the skip bed. With its simple and easy to use hydraulic controls, nothing could be easier, or faster. With a proven deployment time of just 17 seconds operators can be on their way – safely – in no time!
